Good afternoon,
This week the children have worked really hard to show off their learning in their final challenge papers of the year. They have displayed all our Staynor Values in the way they have approached them and we are really proud of them. In English, we began our new narrative work by watching a video called The Lighthouse Keeper. We added actions to our story map and enjoyed practicing this throughout the week. We also practiced subordinating conjunctions and apostrophes for possession to use in our stories. We enjoyed watching our class auditions for Staynor Stars and supporting our friends and their talents.
Coming up next week:
Sports Day is on Friday. Year 4s are in the morning and Year 3 are in the afternoon.
English: Children will plan, write and edit their narrative inspired by The Lighthouse Keeper.
Maths: We will be looking at improper fractions.
PE Year 3 & 4: Children need to come dressed in PE kit on Wednesday & Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
PSHE Year 3: To know some strategies for keeping myself safe online and to know how to listen to and show respect for the views of others both on and offline.
PSHE Year 4: To recognise situations which can cause jealousy in relationships and suggest strategies to problem solve when this happens.
Homework:
Homework will be set on a Friday and is due the following Friday.
