Good afternoon,
This week the children have been working extremely hard, practising for their Christmas performance. They have also been on a local area walk to consider safe places and how to improve an area whilst reading an OS map. They have also enjoyed a visit from the team at Drax power station, linked to our creative curriculum: ‘Why is the view from our window changing.’
Coming up next week:
Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon are our Christmas performances - please see Parent Hub for further details.
Thursday am is the pantomime - please can children be in school for 8:25.
Thursday pm is our Christmas party. Party clothes may be brought in a named bag for the children to change into once back at school. Please can children also bring their food donation of sweet items (e.g. cakes, biscuits, sweets, etc) in the morning as well.
Curriculum: the children be creating a digit map based on their local area walk.
English: the children will be writing a short narrative based on a Christmas scene.
Maths: the children will be multiplying a two-digit number by a single-digit number using expanded multiplication and short multiplication.
Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to!
P.E is every Thursday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
There is no homework set this week.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support,
