Good afternoon,
We’ve had a lovely week in Reception! The children really enjoyed learning about Earth Day and exploring different ways we can all help to look after our planet. They wrote some amazing sentences about this in provision and in their books! They also loved making their own 'Earth' out of natural materials in Forest School.
Next week, we will be reading the non-fiction book How to Plant a Seed. The children will be learning about contents pages, headings and they will be labelling parts of a plant. They will also learn how to follow and order simple instructions, as well as talking about what plants need to grow.
In Maths, we have been exploring different ways to partition numbers up to 5, as well as focusing on finding one more and one less. The children are becoming much more confident with these early number skills. Thank you to everyone who completed last weeks home learning—it really does make a difference!
We are also very proud of how well the children have done in their first week of Phase 4 phonics. They have worked hard to practise new sounds and words, and we will continue to build on this next week. Thank you for your continued support with reading at home.
Just a quick reminder that PE is now on a Friday, so please make sure children come to school in their PE kits on that day.
Have a wonderful weekend!
