WEEKLY UPDATE
Dear Parents and Carers,
Good afternoon,
We’ve had a fantastic week in Reception! The children thoroughly enjoyed our Autumn walk and became little scientists as they observed the changing weather and seasonal signs of Autumn. A big thank you to everyone who brought in Autumn treasures for us to explore – they’ve sparked some wonderful discussions and learning both inside and outside.
Important Information:
Please ensure your child brings their book bag to school every day.
PE will return to its usual day this week – Wednesday
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the phonics meeting. Your support at home makes a real difference to your child's learning. At the meeting we spoke about how important it is to secure oral blending. We have put on Tapestry a few fun games you can use at home. We've also uploaded a copy of the sounds we have learnt so far and how we pronounce these phonemes in school.
Please continue to read with your child at least three times a week and practise their Little Wandle phonics sounds regularly. Congratulations to Denver in Team Swale and Anna in Team Nidd who won a prize for reading three times at home.
Below is an image of what our home learning looks like. This will be in your child's book bag for you to work on together at home.
As always, if you have any questions or need any support, please don’t hesitate to speak to Mrs Murray or Miss Slinn.
Thank you for your continued support,
The Reception Team
