Good afternoon,
This week, KS1 were left feeling astonished when the fire fighters set fire to our Pudding Lane. We watched as they put the fire out but we know back in 1666 it wasn't as easy as that.
Changing books:
To support with reading in school we are changing the day we are sending new books home. Please can book bags and reading records now be sent to school on THURSDAYS.
REMINDERS:
Our PE days are Monday and Thursday.
If your child has signed up for craft club, this takes place after school every Wednesday and Lego club is on a Monday.
In Maths, Year 1 are beginning to look at fractions focusing on what a whole is and halves of objects.
In Year 2 , we are focussing on addition and subtraction within 100 using our knowledge of multiples of 10 to support us with this.
In Writing, we are beginning to look at recounts and what they are. Over the coming weeks we will be writing our own recount of the Fire Brigade's visit.
HOMEWORK:
Your children will bring home their reading books on Friday. We ask that you read with your child 3x a week and write in their reading records each time you read.
The children who have read 3x, will be giving a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a prize.
We know reading is essential for your child/ren and we thank your support with this.
Any questions, please come and ask us.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
Team KS1
