What a busy first week back! The children have settled back in really well and have really enjoyed learning about the Victorian age and how horrible it was in a Victorian workhouse.
Coming up next week:
English: the children will be independently writing a character description linked to a Victorian workhouse
Maths Year 1- The children will be focusing on money and exploring that a single coin can be worth several pennies. They will be calculating the total value of 2p, 5p and 10p coins along with using their knowledge of the value of coins to solve problems.
Maths Year 2 - the children will be exploring addition and subtraction money problems
Curriculum - the children will be looking at what life was like under Queen Victoria’s reign
Science - the children will be learning about how animals obtain their food from plants and other animals, using the idea of a simple food chain.
PSHE
Next week, the children will be looking at life cycles from birth to old age.
This will involve the following language: Growing up, old, young, change, appearance, age, ageing
