Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

It was lovely to see so many of you yesterday for our sharing assembly. The children were brilliant and are extremely proud of themselves.

Coming up next week: 

English:The children are going to be writing their independent write based on a Victorian child at work in the mill. 

Maths: The children will be dividing by a whole number and multiplying a whole number by a unit fraction.

Curriculum: Next week we will look at what occupations did the wealthy victorians have

Science: The children will learn about how exercise affects our heart rate.

PSHE: Over the next couple of weeks we will be looking a tknowing how girls’ and boys’ bodies change during puberty and understand the importance of looking after themselves physically and emotionally. 

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
