Good afternoon,

We hope you all had a lovely half term break.

The children have been straight back into their Victorians topic this week and have started their new Science topic of 'living things and their habitats'. 

Year 1 Maths

The children will be continuing to look at measurement and we will be learning how to use a ruler to measure length. We will then be focusing on counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. 

PSHE

Next week, the children will be learning the names of parts of the body. This will include the vocabulary: Eyebrow, forehead, arm, leg, knee, toes, head, mouth, ears, shoulders, feet, fingers, elbow.

English 

The children will be independently writing a character description linked to a Victorian workhouse.

Science 

The children will be looking at what life was like under Queen Victoria’s reign.

Curriculum 

The children will be learning about how animals obtain their food from plants and other animals, using the idea of a simple food chain.
