Dear Families,
As our Year 6 children prepare for their Key Stage 2 SATs next week, it's important to remember that these assessments only offer a glimpse into their current understanding and abilities. They are a standard part of the primary curriculum across the country. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and progress our Year 6s have made and we would like to thank all of our parents for the continued support you have given to support your child's progress across the year.
We are thrilled to share the wonderful experience our School Council representatives had during their recent visit to the Palace of Westminster. This trip offered a fantastic opportunity for our young leaders to witness democracy in action and learn about the rich history and workings of the UK Parliament.
During their tour, the children explored the magnificent Houses of Parliament, including the House of Commons and the House of Lords. They learned about the process of how laws are made, the roles of Members of Parliament and peers, and the significance of historical events that have shaped our nation within those very walls. They were fascinated to see the iconic Big Ben (Elizabeth Tower) and hear about its history and ongoing restoration.
We are immensely proud of our School Council members for their enthusiasm, their insightful questions, and for being such outstanding ambassadors for our school.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Winter
If you have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child in school please contact myself,
Mr Metcalfe or Mrs Danbury who are the safeguarding leads.
Please can we ask that your child does not ride their bikes or scooters on the school grounds.
Children are not play on the wooden trim trail before and after school.
Children are not play football on the field and playground before or after school.
As the school continues to grow the playground is getting busier and busier and it is important we keep everyone safe.
We would also like to encourage parents and children to not cross roads where visibility is reduced to ensure that roads are clear before crossing.

Dear parents and carers,
Please see the attached information regarding YouTube. YouTube appears to have over taken television in terms of what children are watching and there are definitely lots of useful and entertaining videos to watch. However, there are asks and it is very easy for children to suddenly find watching inappropriate, adult and scary content if the right settings are not in place. As with most online media platforms there also the concern around connecting with strangers. Please read the information below and speak to Mr Metcalfe if you have any concerns.
Warm regards
Mr Metcalfe
What's Cooking?
Team Dove have been in Cook School this week making a delicious chicken stew. They have had the opportunity to use a range of cooking techniques, primarily measuring, peeling, cutting, chopping and also using a hob. They all worked extremely hard and showed me that they already have such a good working knowledge of working safely and hygienically.
Several discussions were had relating to the ingredients we were using, particularly the potatoes and chicken. The children spent some time looking at the Eatwell Guide and were able to place a variety of foods into the relevant sections on the guide. The children also enjoyed learning about the seasonality of fruit and vegetables and decided that summer was definitely a great time for fruit because strawberries and raspberries grow really well.
I will continue to work with Team Dove next week.
Mrs Soper
Cook School Lead
What a big achievement from all the children here at Staynor Hall Primary.
From Tiny Steps to Humber, all children completed their 2 mile walk last week.
Thank you so much to everyone that took the time to raise donations.
We can now announce we raised a whooping £1702.70, which will be divided between the WWF and the sensory garden.
During assembly today we have shared with the children, the great news, that we can adopt an animal through the WWF.
This will go out as a ballot for the children to vote. Most votes win. Keep your eyes out for our next update.
