Good afternoon,
This week LSK2 started writing their independent leaflet about Selby Abbey. We are looking forward to sending them to the Abbey next week for the victor to see! In History, we learnt all about the Great Fire of Selby Abbey by looking at a range of historical sources. In Science for our sound unit, we learnt about pitch and vibration frequency.
English: We are finishing our independent leaflet about Selby Abbey.
Maths: Our current unit is unit fractions and we’re focusing on parts and wholes.
Year 3 & 4 PE: Children need to come dressed in PE kit on Wednesday & Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Year 3 PSHE: We will be continuing our topic ‘Relationships’. This week we will focus on knowing how some of the actions and work of people around the world help and influence my life and to know how my needs and rights are shared by children around the world and can identify how our lives might be different.
Year 4 PSHE: We will be continuing our topic ‘Relationships’. This week we will focus on recognising situations which can cause jealousy in relationships and suggest strategies to problem-solve when this happens.
Homework is set on a Friday and is due in the following Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars or timestables.co.uk a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
