WEEKLY UPDATE
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of a very busy half term, we would like to say how proud we are of the fantastic progress the children have made across all areas of learning. They have worked incredibly hard and it has been a joy to see their confidence grow. Thank you so much for all of your support with reading and phonics this half term. It has made a real difference. It is wonderful to see the children reading more fluently and beginning to use their phonics skills in their independent writing.
This week, the children have been learning about Chinese New Year. They have enjoyed exploring the celebrations, traditions and stories linked to this special event.
In phonics, we have now completed our Phase 3 sounds. After half term, we will be moving on to learning double consonant digraphs (such as ll, ss and ff) and practising reading and writing longer words.
In Maths, we will be introducing doubles. The children will be learning what doubles are and exploring them through practical activities, games and number work.
We hope you all have a lovely half term and enjoy a well-deserved, restful break. We look forward to welcoming the children back to school in a week’s time!
