Team HUMBER (year 6)

Good afternoon, 

Team Humber have had a great first week back in school. They have really enjoyed exploring our new story based on Theseus and the Minotaur.  

Next week we will be doing assessments. Please reassure children that this is just so we know how to support them and not to worry if there are any questions where they are unsure.

Next week:

English: we will be continuing our Greek myth based on Theseus and the Minotaur, 

Maths: We will be looking at fractions, decimals and percentages. 

Curriculum: Children will be learning about when the ancient Greeks were alive and key dates linked to them. 

Science: We will be investigating how some materials will dissolve in liquid to form a solution.

PSHE: We will be looking at how charities help make the world a better place. 

P.E is on Tuesday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).  

Homework will be set this week.

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
