Team calder & Loxley (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

Teams Calder and Loxley have had a super first week back at school and have produced some wonderful ideas in their writing.

English: We will be continuing our Greek myths based on Theseus and the minotaur.

Maths: We will be continuing our new topic on area and scaling.

Curriculum: Children will be learning about when the ancient Greeks were alive and key dates linked to them. 

 PSHE: We will be thinking about ways in which we can support each other to achieve our dreams and goals.

Science: We will be investigating how some materials will dissolve in liquid to form a solution.

Homework will be set this week.

If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework. 

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
