Good afternoon,
It’s been wonderful welcoming the children back into school this week. We started our week off with a DT day where the children created educational board games with an electrical circuit, buzzer and switch. It was so lovely seeing their creative sides! In Science, they looked at endangered species and their habitats.
Next week:
Creative Curriculum: We are moving onto our new topic ‘What’s life like in Poland?’ and we will be starting by looking at where Poland is.
Maths: We will be moving on to look at numbers to 10,000 and start by looking at how many 1s, 10s and 100s make 1,000 and our knowledge of 1,000 to solve problems, including using multiples of 100.
English: We will be writing non-chronological reports about Poland using coordinating and subordinating conjunctions.
PSHE Y3: The children will tell us about a person who has faced difficult challenges and achieved success.
PSHE Y4: The children will be focusing on the fact that sometimes hopes and dreams do not come true and that it can hurt and know that reflecting on positive and happy experiences can help them to counteract disappointment.
Homework:
Homework will be set on a Friday and is due the following Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. Please record this in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars or timestables.co.uk a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support,
