Team HUMBER (year 6)

Good afternoon, 

I hope you all had a wonderful festive period. It has been lovely to see the children back in school, re-energised and ready to go! 

This week we have started looking at fractions in Maths and the children have all shown fabulous determination when tackling the problems in class. 

Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to! 

Coming up next week: 

English:  the children will be writing the introduction to a narrative based on a Viking saga, using carefully chosen language to interest the reader. 

Maths - the children will be looking at multiplying fractions by a whole number, including being able to simplify the answer 

Curriculum -  the children be discovering when in history the Vikings existed 

Science - the children will be learning about the planets orbiting around the sun 

PSHE - the children will be looking at using online platforms, such as Whastapp and the impact discussions on these can have on other people 

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
