Good afternoon,
The children have settled back into school amazingly well after the Christmas break and have really impressed me with their effort and enthusiasm to learn. This week, the children particularly enjoyed being astronomers! They took part in an investigation looking at the different phases of the moon and produced some fantastic scientific diagrams showing the moon orbiting Earth.
Coming up next week:
Curriculum: the children be discovering when in history the Vikings existed
English: the children will be writing the introduction to a narrative based on a Viking saga, using carefully chosen language to interest the reader.
Maths: the children will be continuing their learning on short multiplication and moving on to division.
Science: the children will be learning about the planets orbiting around the sun
PSHE: the children will be finding out about the health risks of smoking and the effects it has on the body.
Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to!
P.E is every Thursday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework has been set today and is due next Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Lazenby
