Reception (Nidd & Swale)

Good afternoon, 

From Monday 9th December, all of the children in Reception will have their lunchtime play outside on the main playground. This will mean that they have the opportunity to talk and play with children in other year groups in school. 

Team Swale and Team Nidd have had a very busy week. We loved ending the week by doing our dress rehearsal to KS1!

This is what we will be looking at next week in English and Maths. The children will also continue to do daily phonics lessons and guided reading.

English - In English next week we will be continuing to look at the story of the Nativity. We are going to have a go at writing our own sentence!

Maths - We will be consolidating all of the learning we have done so far this term. 

There will be no PE between now and Christmas due to Nativity rehearsals. PE will continue to be on a Monday every week from January. 

Please send your child with their book bag on Friday as they will be bringing home a guided reading book, along with a picture book for them to read at home with you. The children will have all read the book three times with an adult in school so they will be eager to share it with you at home. We politely ask that these books are returned to school on the following Friday.

Please note the EYFS nativity is taking place on Tuesday 10th December at 2pm and Friday 13th December at 9:30am. If you would like to come and see your child in the nativity, information for how to book tickets has been sent out on parent hub.
