Good afternoon,
This week the children enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit with our new guided reading text ‘How the Grinch Lost Christmas’. The children started writing their independent letters of complaint to Persimmon Homes to try and persuade them to make changes around the Staynor Hall estate to make our community a better place. We have continued to practice our Christmas performance and the children are looking forward to performing it in front of an audience!
English: We will be finishing our independent letters of complaint about the issues we have identified in the local area that we will try persuade Persimmon to fix.
Creative curriculum: We will be thinking of ideas for what can be done to improve our community. We will create posters to share our thoughts.
Maths: In Maths, we will be continuing to focus on different mental strategies for addition and subtraction, this week we will specifically be focussing on additive relationships.
Children need to come dressed in PE kit on Wednesday & Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Year 3 PSHE: We will be continuing our Dreams and Goals unit, this week we will be focussing on our new challenge.
