A MESSAGE FROM MRS WINTER
Dear Families,
Thank you for all the generous donations that have come in today for our Spirit of Christmas appeal. These will make a significant difference to our children in our local community on Christmas morning.
Next Friday is Children in Need and we invite children to come to school wearing their home clothes - this can include crazy hairstyles and spots which is traditional for Children in Need. We are asking for a £1.00 donation which can be made via ParentPay's unique link https://app.parentpay.com/ParentPayShop/Foc/Default.aspx?shopid=16847
On the day, please can you send your child to school with some coppers and loose change as we plan to have a large outline of Pudsey Bear and we would like to use the coins to fill the outline in. Please send this in an envelope
or purse so the children can take this with them to the school hall when they take part.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Winter
If you have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child in school please contact myself,
Mr Metcalfe or Mrs Danbury who are the safeguarding leads.
WEEKLY ATTENDANCE
Dear parents and carers,
We want to help you understand what is classed as an unauthorised absence with regards to illness. The below information has been taken from the NHS website and includes information on common childhood illnesses.
It is vital you follow this, as school will not authorise your child’s absence if they feel they are well enough to be in school.
Coughs and Colds: it’s fine to send your child to school with a cold, cough or headache. If they are complaining of this kind of thing please give them medicine and bring them in. If they deteriorate then we will call you to collect them.
Sore throat. You can still send your child to school if they have a sore throat.
Conjunctivitis. You don’t need to keep your child away from school if they have conjunctivitis. Do get advice from your pharmacist. Encourage your child not to rub their eyes.
Do not say unwell or ill, as this can mean many things. If there is no reason it will be recorded as unauthorised.
Further information can be found by clicking on this website: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/
Thank you
Steve Metcalfe
Attendance Lead
BIKES & SCOOTERS
Please can we ask that your child does not ride their bikes or scooters on the school grounds.
As the school continues to grow the playground is getting busier and busier and it is important we keep everyone safe.
Please can we also ask that no children play on the wooden trim trail before and after school.

SAFEGUARDING THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Dear Parents and carers,
For this weeks Safeguarding Thought of the Week we are again looking at different social media apps. This week we are looking at Snapchat, which has an age restriction of 13+ and has become increasingly popular among young users, including primary school-aged children.
The information below contains plenty of useful information about Snapchat and the risks when using this app.
Please come speak to myself if you have any questions or concerns around the different social media apps.
Warm regards
Steve Metcalfe
