Good afternoon,
This week, we have had our Learn Through Week which has looked at the theme of ‘Being The Best Version Of Yourself. The children have reflected on what it means to be the best version of themselves, discussed how to make the right choice when in an adverse situation and written a fact file about Anne Frank. The also created some beautiful war artwork based upon the artist Stanley Lewis,
Next week we start our news topic ‘Why is the view from our window changing?:
Curriculum: the children will be looking at why our settlements are located where they are.
English: the children will be looking at persuasive writing, where we will be writing a letter to Elon Musk about electric cars.
Maths: the children will be starting to explore negative numbers
PSHE: The children will be completing the follow up lesson from the NSPCC, which will focus on identifying safe adults to share concerns with and looking at different scenarios. This session will be taught by Mrs Findleton.

P.E is every Thursday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework has been set today and is due next Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
