STAYNOR HALL ACADEMY NEWSLETTER
Friday 18th October 2024
Dear Families,
Thank you to all of our parents and carers who attended parent consultations this week, it is an important time for you to speak with your child's teacher to receive updates on how well they are settling into their new class teams and the progress they are making. If you were unable to attend please contact the school office and we can rearrange this for you offering a face to face appointment or a phone call.
Next week, Joe Spooner, our local police community, support officer (PCSO) will be spending time in school speaking to the children in KS1 and 2 about roadside safety and he will be speaking to KS2 children about anti social behaviour. We are planning this work with Joe to support the children to stay safe whilst going into the half term holiday and in anticipation of Halloween and bonfire night.
On Thursday next week FOSHA will be hosting our Halloween disco after school. Tickets can be purchased via this link https://www.pta-events.co.uk/fosha/index.cfm?event=shop
If you are able to support at the disco your help would be gratefully appreciated.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Winter
If you have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child in school please contact myself,
Mr Metcalfe or Mrs Danbury who are the safeguarding leads.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Next week letters will be sent out to parents of those children where there are attendance concerns;
For those children who have attendance below 90% the letter will notify them that a meeting will be arranged after the half term break. When a child's attendance is below 90% they are monitored as a persistently absent child and part of this process is to have meetings with parents to ensure supportive measures are in place to improve attendance. In the first instant that a child drops below 90%, I will contact them to inform them and discuss.
For children whose attendance is below 96%, but above 90% will receive a letter notifying them of their child's attendance and that as a school we aim for attendance above 97%.
Letters will also be sent out to those children who are coming in late as we know that for children to get the most out of their learning, being on time is a huge factor.
We recognise that children at times will be ill and unable to come to school.
If you have any questions, quries or worries about your childs attendance please speak to myself.
Warm Regards
Mr Metcalfe

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Here at Staynor Hall Primary Academy our year four, five and six children are able to walk directly home from school without a parental pick up (as long as parents have provided signed consent!).
If you have signed this consent and are in agreement that your child is able to walk home without a grown up, can you please ensure you communicate with your child the importance of going straight home after school so as not to cause unnecessary worry.
Thank you all
Mr Metcalfe
