Good afternoon,
This week the teams enjoyed writing a paired Stone Age setting description including a range of subordinating conjunctions. In History, we thought of our own historical valid questions after learning all about different Prehistoric beliefs. We conducted another investigation in Science, this week looking at the sugar content in a range of drinks. We then created a bar chart to show our findings.
Next week:
School photos: The children are having their individual school photo taken on Wednesday 9th. As this is our PE day, please can the children come into school in their school uniform and bring their kits in a bag to get changed into. Please ensure your child brings a school jumper or cardigan on this day.
Curriculum: We will be looking at the question ‘How did Prehistoric people advance society?’
English: Next week we will be writing an independent Stonehenge setting description.
Maths: We will be moving onto our column addition and subtraction unit.
PE: Dove, Derwent and Foss all have PE on Wednesday and Friday.
Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day on Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework is set on a Friday and is due in the following Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
