Good afternoon,
The children have had a great first week back in school. they are all settled and showing fantastic behaviours for learning!
Coming up next week:
On Friday, we have a carbon monoxide workshop so all children know how to keep themselves safe.
Next week we are completing challenge papers (previous SATS papers) so we can identify gaps and support children's learning. Please reassure children that this is nothing to worry about and it's so the adult can help them, if they talk about it.
English: the children will be writing poems based on World War 2.
Maths - the children will be exploring missing values and the basics of algebra.
Curriculum - the children will be learning about what life was like after World War 1.
Science - the children will be learning about air resistance.
PSHE
Year 6 will be following some bespoke PSHE for the first few weeks. Next week will be continuing to look at what rights and responsibilities are and the difference between them.
Homework:
Reading: the children are expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up.
Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week.
Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Mrs Danbury
