Good afternoon,
We have had a brilliant second week back in school and it’s been great to get back into a routine. In History, the teams enjoyed learning about what Prehistoric homes were like and how they developed through this period. The children used adjectives and expanded noun phrases in English to describe a setting. In Science, we looked at the five food groups and healthy diets and used this knowledge to create and design a healthy plate including all food groups.
Next week:
Curriculum: We will be using our geography knowledge within our history topic to learn about where Prehistoric people settled.
English: Next week we will be writing another setting description using prepositions to add detail and description.
Maths: We will be starting our next unit on place value and will be looking at 100 and what it is composed of (eg. ten 10s, one hundred 1s, four 25s)
PSHE:
Y3: To know how to identify positive things in my life and identity worries and how I could overcome them.
Y4: To know how to identify positive things in my life and identity worries and how I could overcome them.
PE:
Dove: Monday and Wednesday
Derwent: Wednesday and Friday
Foss: Wednesday and Friday
Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework has been set today and is due in next Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
