Good afternoon,

This week, in English we have continued to look at persuasive writing, where we will be writing a letter to Elon Musk about electric cars. In Curriculum, the children looked at why we might need to build more homes. In Maths, the children have been exploring negative numbers.

Coming up next week:

On Monday, the children will complete a local area walk to survey how many electric cars are currently being driven.

English: The children will be continuing to look at persuasive writing. We will be writing persuasive letters to staff who live locally to convince them to walk rather than drive to school. 

Maths: the children will be finishing their learning on negative numbers. 

PSHE: The children will be looking at how to recognise pressure from others to do something unsafe or that makes them feel uncomfortable and strategies for managing this

Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to! 

P.E is every Thursday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).  

Homework has been set today and is due next Friday. 

Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.

Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed. 

Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.

If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
