Good afternoon,
This week the teams were furious to find out that Mr Willson, Mrs Danbury and Mrs Winter wanted to ban PE in our school. The children decided to write a letter of complaint, using proper nouns, to our leadership team to try and change their mind. Their letters were a huge success and the children felt a great sense of accomplishment! In Geography, as part of our topic ‘Can the community be your team?’, we went on a local walk around the estate to create an empathy map on how certain parts of the estate make us feel and why.
English: We will be continuing our letters of complaint writing genre. This week we will be focusing on sentence types.
Creative curriculum: We are going to use the empathy map we created on our local walk to focus on what are the areas of concern in our community. We will then be turning this information into a digital map.
Maths: In Maths we will be continuing to focus on different mental strategies for calculating addition and subtraction.
Children need to come dressed in PE kit on Wednesday & Friday. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Year 3 PSHE: We will be continuing our Dreams and Goals unit, this week we will be focussing on dreams and ambitions.
Year 4 PSHE: We will be continuing our Dreams and Goals unit, this week we will be focussing on broken dreams.
Homework is set on a Friday and is due in the following Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars or timestables.co.uk a minimum of 3 times a week.
If children cannot access the internet at home, sheets can be requested for homework.
