Good afternoon,
This week, in English we have started looking at persuasive writing ahead of writing a letter to Elon Musk about electric cars. In Curriculum, the children looked at how land was used before the Staynor Hall estate was built and how people felt when it was built. In Maths, we have calculated using money.
Coming up next week:
Curriculum: the children will be looking at why we need to build more homes.
English: the children will be continuing to look at persuasive writing, where we will be writing a letter to Elon Musk about electric cars.
Maths: the children ill be starting to look at negative numbers
PSHE:the children will be looking at how to recognise pressure from others to do something unsafe or that makes them feel uncomfortable and strategies for managing this
Don’t forget to keep checking Twitter to see what learning we have been up to!
P.E is every Thursday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework has been set today and is due next Friday.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
