Good afternoon,
Team Swale and Team Nidd have worked really hard this week. We started the week by looking at Remembrance day, we then learnt about what Diwali is and how it is celebrated and we have ended the week by learning all about Children in Need!
This is what we will be looking at next week in English and Maths. The children will also continue to do daily phonics lessons and guided reading.
English - We will be starting to look at the story of Winnie and Wilbur in English next week. We will be helping Winnie to make a potion to turn her cat back black, whilst also practising how we write CVC words.
Maths - We will be continuing to look at parts and wholes and using part whole diagrams to show the parts the numbers 1 to 5 can be split into. We will also be discussing how numbers can be split into more than two parts.
In PSHE next week we will be discussing personal space and boundaries.
PE will be on a Monday every week.
Please send your child with their book bag on Friday as they will be bringing home a guided reading book, along with a picture book for them to read at home with you. The children will have all read the book three times with an adult in school so they will be eager to share it with you at home. We politely ask that these books are returned to school on the following Friday.
Homework: Read 3 times a week for a chance to win a prize
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
