State Testing Information & Updates
Samuel Mickle School will administer the state testing program in May. The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) will be administered in English Language Arts and Mathematics in grades 3-6, and Science in grade 5. Students in grade 3 will take one section per day. They will participate in two English Language Arts sections (75 minutes each) and three Mathematics sections (60 minutes each). Students in grades 4-6 will take one section per day. They will participate in two English Language Arts sections (90 minutes each) and three Mathematics sections (60 minutes each).
Additional time is also added to each testing session for reading directions, addressing students’ questions and handing out/collecting materials.
