Tiered System of Support @ EGT
Tiered System of Support @ EGT
Math BSI aims to support the whole student in achieving academic success.
Math Basic Skills lessons (Math BSI) are structured to supplement the core academic curriculum. Math BSI provides intensive Tier 2 and Tier 3 support and interventions that may be delivered individually or in a small group of students after core instruction and support has taken place. These supports will be in a pull-out setting.
Support will be tailored to individual student’s performance and strengths, using data that is reviewed during frequent progress monitoring intervals, in order to reinforce basic skills and support the core classroom instruction.
Math BSI occurs DURING a block of the general education classroom math period, in a pull out setting.
Tier 2 Groups- Small groups of 5 students or less, supporting what is happening in class and basic skills.
Tier 3 Groups - Smaller groups of 1 or 2 students, specifically focusing on basic skills. These groups are in ADDITION TO Tier 2 groups.
The Basic Skills program is designed to supplement instruction in English Language Arts. This intervention program is for tier 2 and tier 3 students who are struggling to meet the grade level expectations. Targeted interventions include evidence-based instructional practices and interventions that increase in intensity, frequency and duration based upon the review of data during regular progress monitoring intervals.
