Monitoring construction activity can be challenging due to the scale of many road/rail networks. Automatic monitoring may help efficiently catch construction challenges and reduce delays. Currently, construction monitoring is mostly a manual process with on-the-ground reports from construction crews or project managers.
There may be opportunity to leverage satellite imagery and other geo-information data to monitor construction activity and automatically report potential construction issues to help prevent delays. Users identified 2 specific needs, each requiring one or more specific geospatial products (geo-requirements):
1. User Need 4.1: Automatic reports of construction status (e.g., stage of construction, kilometers completed, etc.)
2. User Need 4.2: Alerts of deviations from construction timetables
