Instructional Coaches (ICs) help coordinate, facilitate, and model learning experiences for continuous improvement in the classroom, school and district. ICs are the liaisons between research and practice, helping educators learn to improve their practices in a reflective supportive setting, and they model continuous learning. ICs build relationships and serve as critical friends supporting all learning communities, and they assist and serve on leadership teams within the school for the district. ICs support educators by helping with the “how” and "what" of teaching by assisting teachers with instructional materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction. They also serve as co-planners, co-teachers, and feedback providers through coaching cycles.
