Numerous Lightning Strike Fires

Firefighters are aware of multiple lightning strike fires. Please don't duplicate reports unless you think they are a new incident.

UPDATED INFORMATION ON FIRE ACTIVITY IN EAGLE COUNTY. AS OF 10:01 AM 05/26/2026 

🔥 Fire above COSTCO is contained, crews continue to work on it to ensure no further growth. 

🔥 US Forest Service is on the scene of the Trail Gulch fires. One is contained and they are hiking to the second.

🔥 Air support is overhead, looking for other fire starts.

UPDATE 9:24 PM 

•  2 north of Gypsum off of Trail Gulch. Crews are unable to safely respond to the fires up Trail Gulch Rd north of Gypsum, but they do not anticipate those fires spreading. Crews will monitor overnight and attack first thing tomorrow morning.

• 1 south of Costco. Wildfire crews are working to extinguish the fire near Sienna Lakes south of Costco and aim to contain that fire tonight.

• Fire in a structure at Vail Honeywagon 3-story structure near where yesterday’s fire took place, unclear if related FIRE UNDER CONTROL.

• Unconfirmed fire in the northern part of the county near Routt County.
