Position Papers
A position paper is a key precursor for the conference and is something taken into great account by the chairs to judge a delegate's eligibility for an award. It is a written document that outlines your position- whether that be a country, individual, or entity) and stance on the specific topics which will be discussed in your committee. They have a dual purpose, both outwardly demonstrating to the chair that you have engaged in proper prepartation for the conference and are capable of analyzing complex societal issues, but also serve as key resources for you to use during the conference. Delegates should use their position papers to guide themselves and actions during the committee. Within the position paper, delegates should advocate for their outlined interests and act in such a way that is consistent with your position paper. Often, delegates will utilize the ideas mentioned in their position papers as the foundation for speeches, debate, negotiation, and resolution-writing during committees. Please be sure to follow the required format, content and structure listed on BSBMUN X's guidance pages.
Position papers are mandatory for all delegates. Submit your position papers by the end of the day on October 2nd to be eligible for awards.
