Points and motions are how debate commences, resolutions are passed, and votes are given. They are also used for more menial tasks, such as turning on the AC or filling water bottles. It is crucial that every delegate familiarizes themselves with points and motions before the conference. Chairs understand that some delegates are beginners and can assist you in committee. However, delegates who effectively and correctly use points and motions will be viewed more favorably for awards.
