Mathematical Language Routines (MLRs) created through Stanford's Understanding Language Project. Goals for the session include: 1) Learn what mathematical language routines are. 2) Discover how mathematical language routines support language and math instruction simultaneously for all students, especially English Language Learners. 3) Identify practical strategies for implementing the routines in your classroom.

Creating Lessons With Power Knowledge Science Suite

Participants will learn about this valuable science database that is both student and teacher friendly. It provides a variety of current articles in life, earth, and physical science. These articles are available in a variety of languages and can be read or listened to. The data base also provides a variety of teacher resources including curriculum correlations to the Next Generation Science Standards. Specific examples of lessons designed from the data base will be shared with participants. These lessons are appropriate for distance learning and for students at all ability levels.
