Event Information for Basketball

Park in the rear parking lot. Enter through the busport. 

If you require handicap parking you need to arrive early, those spaces will be claimed quickly.

Doors open at D-Y’s Upper Gymnasium for the junior varsity game which generally runs immediately before the varsity game (except for when playing Nantucket on December 19th when the varsity contest is first). 

The Yarmouth Police will be on hand to ensure a safe and enjoyable event.

Any child not enrolled at Dennis-Yarmouth High School must be accompanied by an adult and supervised for the duration of the game.

Games typically end about 90 minutes after varsity tip-off. The D-Y facility will close 30 minutes after the game ends and all spectators must be off the property. Waiting on the property after closing is not permitted, all must go. Please make pick-up arrangements accordingly. Neither staff nor police will provide rides home.

Food is available for purchase outside the gym. Proceeds go the basketball boosters. 

Please be aware of the following rules.

• No smoking (anything) on school grounds

• No open beverage containers

• No outside food

• No food in the gymnasium

• No coolers, bags or backpacks

• No athletic equipment of any kind, including basketballs, except for official play on the court or in the gymnasium.

• No one is allowed on the court during the game, including half-time. 

• No re-admittance (you can only leave the gymnasium or building once)

• No Pets

All school rules apply at the game. Check your Student and Family Handbook. 

Massachusetts law is always in full effect.

• No alcohol - MGL Chapter 272 § 40A

• No marijuana (any amount) - MGL Chapter 94G § 2

• No firearms (even with LTC) - MGL Chapter 269 § 10(j)

• No dangerous weapons on school grounds - MGL Chapter 269 § 10(j)

Your self-regulation on these items allows us to concentrate our attention and efforts on other matters. 

Admission is $6 for adults and student, $4 for senior citizens. Electronic tickets may be purchased online or at the gate with cash. To purchase tickets online, use the link GoFan.co and type in Dennis-Yarmouth.
