My issue is how social media affects mental health. I am interested in this issue because I will soon be able to use social media myself and I want to know what some of the dangers are and how to avoid them. I have also seen news about how many people’s mental health were affected by social media and I want to help others to not be harmed by the dangers that social media poses. I have learned that using social media is not like socialising with people in real life because it does not make your brain release a hormone which makes you feel happy and healthy which is released when talking to someone in real life. I also learned that if social media is used in a small and controlled amount, it can have positive effects, it can let you contact friends and family from far away, make new friends or meet people with the same interest as you and it lets you express your imagination and creativity and show others what you can do. I hope that after viewing my work people will know the dangers of social media and how to avoid them and how to use social media properly, I also hope that I will remember this when I am older so that I can act responsibly on social media.

For my action I have made a video of a puppet show with Tess, the puppet show explains one of the dangers of social media and how to avoid it. I did this because I wanted to spread the message of the dangers of social media and how to avoid them, but I also wanted to make it entertaining so I decided to make a puppet show. We did this by cutting the characters out of cards and stickingthe to rulers for the puppets, then we wrote a script and Tess moved the puppets while I did the voices and we recorded it in front of the green screen so we could make different backgrounds to match what was happening. I hope to explain to the viewers one of the dangers of social media and how to avoid it but at the smae time I want to entertain the audience.
