SUMMER WORK FOR 12TH GRADERS 2025

DUE SEPT 8TH: 

• Everyone: Accept the Canvas Class that was shared with you in July.

• Ella, Katia & Oliver: Collaborative Project DRAFT. Please submit on Canvas.

• Ella, Katia, Michelle & Oliver: Journal Responses to plays read & viewed. Assignment on Canvas. 

1. SEE 3 PLAYS & ANSWER THE JOURNAL PROMPTS ON CANVAS. LINK TO possible PLAYS TO SEE Summer 2025 - Virtual &/or in person. 

2. READ 3 PLAYS (MINIMUM) & ANSWER THE JOURNAL PROMPTS ON CANVAS.  Link to a list of some plays  and link to some one act plays that might interest you. Ms. G. will also email you some recommendations based on your answers in the form you filled out. It is preferable that you pick a play that you have only read and NOT seen. If you choose a play you have seen, then you have to have a radically new vision for your own production. Read plays that you think you might REALLY want to direct yourself. You are looking for a play for your production proposal. DO NOT READ MUSICALS, at least not for your final choice.

3. WRITE DRAFT OF YOUR COLLABORATIVE PAPER & Edit your video - due September 8th. WRITING COLLABORATIVE PAPER INSTRUCTIONS ARE on this website at this link - READ CAREFULLY.

4. RECOMMENDED: Explore theater theorists to help you decide who you want to research for your solo project. In creating your solo project, you will use a theater theorists theories and methods to help you create your piece. Theater Theorist list and links to research starters .Please note that if a theater theorist has a line under their name, then that is a link to a research starter page for that theorist. If you want Ms. G. to recommend theorists for you, email her.
