Congratulations to our top teams competing this year! Below you will find some brief information about each of the teams as well as the link to their video pitch. These 33 teams were selected from the top in each class out of over 150 teams this year. Collaborating across multiple classes over the past 3-4 weeks to make their solutions a reality, these teams have put in the hard work and effort to impress their peers and hopefully the judges! Wish them luck in their final round of competition!

TENG Tile
The TENG Tile is a floor tile that can generate electricity every time it is pressed or stepped on. Unlike solar panels, these tiles operate day and night. TENG Tiles may thus be used to power buildings day and night, with zero emissions.

GarboX
GarboX is an affordable and rapidly deployable solution to meet sanitation needs in municipal communities. At its core is a trash intake system mounted to a rugged, all-electric chassis suitable for outdoor use. The trash intake manifold “scoops” up the garbage with electrically-operated motors and places it in a trash container mounted on the robot.

Everyone's in Trouble
We have remodeled the game Trouble so that it is more accessible and usable for those with motor disabilities specifically Parkinson's Disease. Our product is a way for people suffering from these disabilities to not only practice small muscle movements that will help their disorder, but it is also a way for them to connect with and spend quality time with their families.

Dumbbell-Cleaning UV Machine
Our idea is a Dumbbell-Cleaning UV Machine which uses ultraviolet light to destroy bacteria & viruses (including COVID-19) on dumbbell grips. Our idea was derived from our previous knowledge on UV light and the treatments that it is used for in hospitals.

Light Bulb Idea!
Light Bulb Idea! is a toy and app that are designed to make learning fun and engaging for young children, specifically preschoolers. Our product consists of a circuit board that lights up to form letters or numbers inputted by the user, and an app that sounds out different letters to help children learn their phonetic sounds.

p1Lock is a revolution in the safe administration of addictive medication. With a website that manages physician-pharmacist interaction, a dispenser with a locking and dispensing mechanism, and a text-notification reminder system, our product is one of its kind. No other product on the market administers prescription drugs according to the exact prescription written by the physician as the p1Lock does.

Tap In! is a new, quick, and efficient way to take attendance. Students simply tap their ID card once to check into class which minimizes the time wasted used to manually take attendance, while maximizing productivity.

ACRMAN Greenhouse
Our product is an automatic greenhouse cell, that can be bought in bulk for larger agricultural demands. Very little maintenance is required, since the conditions of the greenhouse are monitored and adjusted by a computer periodically without needing human input. The ACRMAN Greenhouse is unique in its scalability, meaning that the cells can be stacked to take up less acreage on the ground, with multiple plants per cell.

DeerSteer
Our product is a solar-powered wildlife warning sign that serves to alert drivers of deers crossing to mitigate animal-vehicle collisions. It accomplishes this by utilizing an AI camera that will detect the animal, which will trigger a flashing red light, and emit a sound.

The Wayfinder is a 3-dimensional map application of Dublin High School that will allow students to navigate the campus easily. It includes features such as accurately scaling each classroom and displaying the class number to make sure students have a reliable way to find their next location.

The Green Almond
It's time to make the world green, and all it takes is one seed. Almonds, a staple crop in California, consume 1-3 gallons per individual almond, however with our line of genetically modified almonds named The Green Almond, these crops can reach nutrients and water that are deeper in the soil—thus allowing for less water consumption. This is made possible by the EXO70A3 gene, which was discovered in the Arabidopsis thaliana plant; it alters the phytohormone auxin, which lengthens the plant's root system architecture vertically and horizontally.

Delivery Doormat
The Delivery Doormat is a smart home doormat equipped with a weight sensor, barcode scanner, app alarm system, and camera to monitor delivered packages. Once the barcode on the package's label is scanned by the doormat, the alarm is activated such that it will go off if a burglar attempts to run off with the package and will notify the police in this event. Otherwise, in order to retrieve the package, the homeowner will simply have to switch off the alarm.

Oceanergy
Our product uses kinetic energy of falling water and recycles the energy into electricity, utilizing the water to rotate a turbine connected to a generator. Water then fills a tank surrounding the turbine and is emptied using excess energy in an energy surplus. It is basically a giant water battery.

Senior citizens are uniquely susceptible to legal trouble - in 2020, Legal Services Corporation reports that 56% experienced a civil legal issue, but they received inadequate or no professional assistance for 87% of these needs. To help bridge that gap, SenLaw is an app enabling senior citizens to search for available law students and legal firms that can assist in the numerous legal issues they can face: wills, assets, care, and more. The platform is designed with seniors in mind: from an extremely simple user interface to an easy tagging system that identifies the types of law each service can help with, so legal assistance is easy and accessible.

Rekindle is form of smart glasses that is focused on ensuring productivity and focus through essentially, transforming the neuroplasticity, training the brain to avoid distractions, picking up on stress signals, and getting them into what scientists call a flow state, the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus.

Gael Cup Garage Counter
The Gael Cup Garbage Counter will measure the amount of trash in trash cans and report this to the Gael Cup manager who will award points accordingly (gael cup may need to be explained). Our product will give students the motivation to actually dispose of their trash properly and in turn help solve our trash problem at DHS.

S.P.E.N.C.E.R.
Meet your newest addition to school bathrooms: S.P.E.N.C.E.R! Being an innovative and affordable smart dispenser for menstrual products, our product replaces current dispensers that are often broken, out of stock, or costly. Using Raspberry Pi and a system of magnets to notify when stock is depleted, S.P.E.N.C.E.R. aims to help the 86% of girls who start their period in school without the supplies they need, adding back valuable class time and comfort.

Get Well Soon!
In order to remedy the problem of the DHS Wellness Center being unknown to the general student body, our mobile app called "Get Well Soon!" would allow anyone at Dublin High School to better understand the resources available there. Users will click the mood that best corresponds with how they are feeling, and the app will show what specific resources are available at the Wellness Center that can help them feel better.

MagiCarp
MagiCarp is a mobile application that aids users that have RSIs (repetitive stress injuries) such as carpal tunnel, tendonitis, and burstitis, and MagiCarp will reccomend products through Amazon affiliate links to the user based on their specific RSI injury. MagiCarp will also perform an assessment regarding the user's pain level, and it will provide videos from accreddited medical professionals of specific stretches/exercises the user can perform to relieve pain from their RSI injury. MagiCarp will also have a community chat where users can discuss the validity of certain exercises and ergonomic products, and the app also includes a work timer where users can perform the reccomended stretches during their work break.

A.L.W (Automated Laundry Wardrobe)
The A.L.W is a machine that will do your laundry for you. All you have to do is throw your clothes in it, and it will wash, dry, iron, fold, and store your clothes! It even comes with a convenient web-interface where you can find all sorts of helpful information.

No Stove Left Behind
There are over 150,000 household structural fires, 1300 civilian deaths, and 5 billion dollars in damages caused by unattended or irresponsibly utilized stovetops and ranges every year. Our product monitors the smoke and thermal output of the stove, performing various analyses to determine whether or not there is a fire. If a fire is present, the system autonomously extinguishes it, providing peace of mind.

V-Farm
The Vertical Farm is a product that aspires to combat the issue of providing food to those who live in areas where there is limited access to food due to environmental limits. Unlike other vertical farm models, our model aspires to be more cost-effective and small enough to be portable while being controlled by a mobile application. People who need to grow more plants van also purchase and line up or stack multiple V-Farm units, to increase the amount of plants growing.

Speak App
Speak App is a downloadable mobile software that will have a user-friendly interface targeting the three major predictors of speech and presentational success - speed, volume, and content. It will utilize voice memo-like software to record words per minute, dB of volume, filler words counter, and playback feature. in order to give feedback for the improvement of the user’s speech/presentation. This application will have the capability to provide the user with real time feedback, such as “Slow Down!”, or “Speak Up!”, in order to allow course corrections during a practice session.

Many neighborhoods face crimes such as package theft, robberies, and other suspicious activity that puts the whole community at risk. Our product helps to reduce the amount of crime and make it harder for it to happen. Our product accesses the cameras of the houses in the neighborhood and utilizes a ML we built to identify whether a person caught on camera is a criminal or a friendly citizen and then decides to alert the police, neighborhood, and home owner of the crime.
