This first-year high school science course is a simple fundamentals of physics (first semester) and an introduction to chemistry (second semester). Topics for the course are length measurement, displacement, area measurement, volume measurement, mass measurement (Law of Conservation of Mass), time measurement, phases and phase changes of matter (effect of heat), physical vs. chemical changes, density, thermal expansion, elasticity and resiliency, boiling, melting, freezing, solubility, separation processes, elements and compounds, forces, simple machines, motion, wave motion and sound, light, mirrors, lenses, color, static and current electricity, and the universe.
