This comprehensive course introduces students to the basics of publications before exploring subjects necessary for the production of the Dripping Springs High School Tiger Cry yearbook such as the fundamentals of photography, parts of a yearbook, writing features and secondary coverage. Additionally, students will operate in the publication office as if a part of a working magazine staff. The students are expected to sell advertisements and the yearbook itself. They will have to design marketing materials in addition to spreads using Photoshop and InDesign. Students will learn how to be reporters with an emphasis on ethics and interview skills. Finally, the students will put all of these skills together to produce a final product in the Tiger Cry yearbook.
