Prerequisite: Principles of Health Science, Health Science Theory, Biology, Chemistry. Credit: 1

In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of exercise science and sports medicine. This course is ideal for students who are interested in learning about the scientific aspects of sports performance and injury rehabilitation. Academic topics include functional anatomy, sports nutrition, biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise program design, and injury prevention and treatment. This course is highly recommended for students interested in a career in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Orthopedics, or Exercise Science.

Anatomy & Physiology is strongly encouraged as a pre or corequisite. An application is also required for successful admission to this program.
