Advanced Animal Science examines the interrelatedness of human, scientific, and technological dimensions of livestock production. This certification course is recommended for students in Grades 11 and 12 as a corequisite course for students participating in a coherent sequence of career and technical education courses.
Agricultural Laboratory and Field Experience is designed to provide students a laboratory and/or field experience opportunity. To prepare for careers in agriculture, food, and natural resources, students must acquire knowledge and skills that meet entry requirements and industry expectations. To prepare for success, students need opportunities to learn, reinforce, apply, and transfer academic knowledge and technical skills in a variety of settings.
CVA requirements: 200 hours of class time in the animal science cluster and 300 hours in a clinic working hands on with a licensed DVM. Once approved they are eligible to take their state test through TMVA to receive their CVA certification.
