Hey y'all my name is David Saenz, this is my first year teaching and I am very excited to be apart of the Dripping Springs team. I will be teaching Welding 1, Advanced Welding, and the Welding Cornerstone. I will be advising the Ag Mechanics projects and working with Ms. Gold overseeing the livestock projects up at the barn. In addition to that I am in charge of the FFA officer team and coordinating the LDE and CDE teams.
I am from Arlington, TX and am new to the Dripping Springs area. I was heavily involved in FFA while in high school competing on multiple LDE and CDE teams over the years. I showed rabbits and goats, doing fairly well with my rabbit breeding operation. I was on multiple chapter and district officer teams and served as the president my senior year. I loved every second of my FFA experience and am excited to share that with you all.
I graduated with my degree in Agriculture Education May of 2022 from Tarleton State University. While at Tarleton I student taught in Weatherford, Huckabee, and Bluff Dale. During my last semester I taught Ag Mechanics, Livestock Production, Intro to Agriculture, Animal Science, and Welding. During this experience I helped with swine, lamb, and goat projects. Also at Tarleton I got my minor in Horticulture, a program we are working towards starting here in the coming years. I have judged and worked countless LDE and CDE contest over the years and am excited to work with these teams to achieve that goal of making it to state.
My classroom will focus on hands on experiences, rather than book work. Students will all be working towards getting their AWS (American Welding Society) certifications and experience in all welding processes.
Feel free to reach out with questions at anytime.
