Honor Bands
There are many honor band opportunities in the State of California. However, the band director and the school must also be a paying member of each organization in order for students to participate. The listings below are organizations that Mr. Sparks and Davis Senior High School are registered for. If you are a family of a Junior High School or Elementary student, please check with your director to verify which programs you can participate in.

Instrument Repair
Need to get that instrument repaired and don't know where to turn. The following is a list of businesses that have been supporters of the Davis music programs. The businesses are listed in alphabetical order, you will need to ask around or simply contact the businesses and decide for yourself what might be the best route for your family. Our goal is to just give a list of options (a starting place) for families, so they can proceed to getting instruments fixed and in working order. Remember if it a school instrument that breaks down, let your director know of the problem and they will make arrangements for having the school horn repaired.

Private Lesson Instructors
Welcome all Elementary, Jr. High and High School families. The following is a list of professional private lesson instructors. To be on the list, instructors have had a conversation with the High School Band Director (Mr. Sparks) along with possible additional contact from a DSHS Booster member. Instructors are listed for each category in alphabetical order. To select the instructor that might be best for your child, be sure to ask around or give each instructor a trial run to best access what would be the best fit for your family. Private instruction from a professional is the best way to improve students' musical ability and insure proper methods and techniques for instrument play.
If you are a private instructor and would like to be considered for this list, please contact the Band Booster President (Stephen Inouye) by sending an email to president@dshsbb.org to start the process.
