(3) Star Early Literacy Test 

 Star Assessments are computer-adaptive tests (CATs) for Kindergarten to Grade 8 students that measure reading, math, and early literacy skills. Testing is conducted in the Fall, Winter, and Spring to determine the academic needs of our students and also measure the academic growth of our student population. Students are tested 3 times per year.

Built on the science of reading, Lexia® Core5® Reading is a research-proven program that accelerates the development of literacy skills for students of all abilities, helping them make the critical shift from learning to read to reading to learn.

Help children learn to read with our free, award-winning reading and phonics game.

This program includes letter sounds, letter blends and sight words. The latest updates also include Reading for Fun and Number Skills!

Every issue expands knowledge with curriculum-connected topics and builds reading skills with activities on concepts of print, sight words, phonics, and more! (1) Be Safer Online Presentation

This is an assembly-style personal safety presentation for children in grades K-2 featuring the NetSmartzKids characters. Kids will learn about the four NetSmartz Internet Safety Rules. They will also be asked to share their own experiences and then collectively as a class we talk about positive ways to deal with those issues.

XtraMath is a free web program that teaches addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts which are critical to success in mathematics.

PLEASE NOTE: This year you will log into Freckle through ClassLink. Also, the starting point in Freckle will be determined by your Star Math and Reading test which will create a unique starting point for you. This program should be ready to use by October 1st. 

Freckle helps K-4 teachers differentiate instruction and reach every student at their own level across Math, ELA, Social Studies and Science. It includes the entire grade level curriculum in each subject area and comes with practice questions, hints and videos to support learning and allow the student to move ahead.

(3) Typing Practice

Do you have kids or students who want to learn how to type? Dance Mat Typing by the BBC is a good choice. It is interactive, fun, free and easy-to-use for kids 

(2) Math Common Core Clickers

Students will review Kindergarten Math Common Core questions using an Interwrite Personal Response System (PRS). Each student will enter their answers into a computer using an infrared remote control. The computer then displays the results (including the correct answer) in a bar chart on the big screen.
