(2) Star Reading and Star Math
Star Assessments are computer-adaptive tests (CATs) for Kindergarten to Grade 8 students that measure reading, math, and early literacy skills. Testing is conducted in the Fall, Winter, and Spring to determine the academic needs of our students and also measure the academic growth of our student population.

(7) Google Drive Review
Google Drive is a cloud based platform for writing in documents, presentations, spreadsheets and drawing. With constant auto save and the ability to share and work collaboratively, Google Drive is one of the most productive tools on the internet. In Grade 3 we deliver the most rigorous program possible. We practice using all of the buttons on the editing toolbar via a crazy letters class. In another class we practice inserting copyright free images. For a fun finish, students will practice using Google Drive tools and finish by doing THE TEST!.

XtraMath is a free web program that teaches addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts which are critical to success in mathematics.
(3) MLA Citation Machine
In this class, students will create MLA style citations as a way of saying thank you to the author for the use of their information.
Students will create a Google Document, find the information needed in a book or website, and then enter that data into a citation generator. The final product, the MLA citation, is then copy/pasted into the Google Doc. The goal in this activity is five citations in one class.

Share Jumper
Students evaluate examples of online messages and decide what information is appropriate to share, and when. Students will:
Reflect on the benefits of sharing online, while acknowledging that information can spread fast and far.

It's a 45 minute introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code" and show that anyone can learn the basics to be a maker, a creator, an innovator.

(6) Biographies Webquest

INTRODUCTION
In our American history, there have been many amazing people whose contributions have shaped the land and laws in which we live. In this project, you will learn about some famous people from out state of Massachusetts. You will learn about what made them great and why it is important for us to honor their lifes work.
PROCEDURE
Step 1 - Form into groups of 3 (Mr. Pearse will organize).
Step 2 - Create a Google Presentation slideshow and label it "Biographies Webquest".
Step 3 - Share that Google Presentation with your partner.
Step 4 - Create 10 slides and label last slide "Bibliography"
Step 5 - Select 8 famous people and title slides.
Step 6 - Learn about your famous people by clicking on the Wikipedia links below.
Step 7 - Add at least 6 facts per slide.
Step 8 - Add at least 2 primary artifact images per slide.
Step 9 - Include at least 2 sources/websites in your bibliography.
Step 10 - Orally present your famous people to your class.

CONCLUSION
In this project you have researched eight famous Massachusetts people in detail. Remember, biographies are not just about famous people. They tell the story of any persons life. You could even create your own biography. Wouldn't that be fun!
