Star Assessments are computer-adaptive tests (CATs) for Kindergarten to Grade 8 students that measure reading, math, and early literacy skills. Testing is conducted in the Fall, Winter, and Spring to determine the academic needs of our students and also measure the academic growth of our student population.

Freckle helps K-4 teachers differentiate instruction and reach every student at their own level across Math, ELA, Social Studies and Science. It includes the entire grade level curriculum in each subject area and comes with practice questions, hints and videos to support learning and allow the student to move ahead.

Google Drive is a cloud based platform for writing in documents, presentations, spreadsheets and drawing. With constant auto save and the ability to share and work collaboratively, Google Drive is one of the most productive tools on the internet. In Grade 4 we deliver the most rigorous program possible. We practice using all of the buttons on the editing toolbar via a crazy letters class. In another class we practice inserting copyright free images. For a fun finish, students will complete a rigorous lesson practicing with Google Drive tools and finish with the driving test!

In this class, students will create MLA style citations as a way of saying thank you to the author for the use of their information.
Students will create a Google Document, find the information needed in a book or website, and then enter that data into a citation generator. The final product, the MLA citation, is then copy/pasted into the Google Doc. The goal in this activity is five citations in one class.

INTRODUCTION
In this webquest you will be discovering interesting and important facts about Mexico and Canada.
Mexico is located South of the United States. With a population of 128 million population it is the 11th most populated nation in the world (United States being 3rd with 328 million people). Mexico is a net exporter of manufactured goods.
Canada is located to the north of us. It has a population of 38 million people. It is larger than the United States in land area (by about 100,000 square miles). In fact, Canada is the second largest nation in the world, second to Russia.

PROCEDURE
Your job is to complete the following:
Step 1 Form into groups of three (Mr. Pearse will help you with that).
Step 2 Choose the nation you wish to research.
Step 3 Create a Google Presentation on your nation. Share that presentation with your partners.
Step 4 Create a title slide.
Step 5 Create headings for each slide based on the topics listed below in black (at least 10 headings).
Step 6 Create a slide titled "Bibliography". This is where you will list the websites you have used.
Step 7 Insert at Least four facts per slide.
Step 8 Insert at least two primary artifact images per slide.
Step 9 List at least three sources of facts in your bibliography.
Step 10 Orally present to the class what you have learned about your nation.
