In Modernist art, abstraction emerged as a way for artists to break away from traditional representation and explore new forms of expression. Artists like Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian sought to convey emotions and ideas through non-representational shapes, colors, and lines. When comparing this to abstraction in other cultures, we can see that African and Native American arts have a long history of utilizing abstraction as well. In African art, abstraction is often used to symbolize spiritual or ancestral connections, while in Native American art, abstraction is used to depict stories, rituals, and the natural world. While the motivations and contexts may differ, the use of abstraction as a means of conveying deeper meanings and exploring different ways of seeing is a common thread across cultures. It's fascinating to see how abstraction has been embraced and interpreted in diverse artistic traditions
Art is the expression of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Art is also a way many of people express themselves and art helps a lot of people understand , math problems , paragraphs , and even historical events with pictures .

Completing the CodeHS Punnett Square Generator project was a valuable experience that allowed me to apply programming skills to genetics concepts. In this project, I used Python's Turtle Graphics to create a visual representation of a Punnett square, a tool used in genetics to predict the possible genotypes of offspring from two parents. The project involved writing functions to determine allele combinations, displaying these combinations in a grid format, and calculating the probability of each genotype.
I developed a Sheep and Wolf Simulator on CodeHS for AP Computer Science, simulating interactions between sheep and wolves in a virtual ecosystem. This project involved programming behaviors such as sheep grazing and reproduction, and wolf hunting and reproduction, using object-oriented principles. I implemented classes for Sheep and Wolf each with attributes like health and energy, and methods to simulate their actions within the ecosystem. The simulation utilized arrays to manage multiple entities and incorporated random events to mimic real-world unpredictability. Through this project, I applied concepts such as inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation, enhancing my understanding of object-oriented design and its application in modeling complex systems.
I completed a comprehensive test correction worksheet for AP Computer Science, meticulously reviewing each question to identify and understand the errors in my initial responses. This process involved analyzing the underlying concepts, such as object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithm design, to pinpoint where my understanding had faltered. By revisiting the material and correcting my mistakes, I not only reinforced my knowledge but also developed a deeper comprehension of key programming principles. This reflective practice has been instrumental in enhancing my problem-solving skills and preparing me for future assessments in the course.
As part of our AP Computer Science class, we engaged in a choice board activity where we selected three tasks from a provided list to complete. One of the tasks I chose was creating a Sheep and Wolf Simulator on CodeHS, where I programmed interactions between sheep and wolves in a virtual ecosystem. This project involved simulating behaviors such as grazing, hunting, and reproduction, providing a practical application of object-oriented programming principles. Another task I undertook was developing a Punnett Square Generator, which helped me apply programming skills to genetics concepts by automating the calculation of genetic probabilities. Additionally, I completed a test correction worksheet, reviewing and fixing errors to improve my understanding of key concepts. These activities not only reinforced my coding abilities but also deepened my comprehension of how programming can be applied to solve real-world problems.
For our AP Computer Science class, we were tasked with creating an interactive story on CodeHS, allowing us to apply programming concepts in a creative context. I chose to adapt the classic fairy tale of Rapunzel, infusing it with my owns twists to make the narrative unique. In my version, Rapunzel is a brilliant inventor who uses her long hair not only to escape her tower but also to power a complex machine that helps her communicate with the outside world. The story explores themes of innovation, independence, and the breaking of traditional roles, offering a fresh perspective on the familiar tale. Through this project, I utilized various programming techniques, such as conditional statements, loops, and user input handling, to bring the story to life and engage the audience in an interactive experience.
As part of our AP Computer Science class, we participated in a choice board activity where we selected three tasks from a provided list to complete. One of the tasks I chose was developing a Tic-Tac-Toe game, which allowed me to apply programming concepts in a practical context. This project involved creating a user interface, implementing game logic to handle player moves and determine winners, and ensuring the game could handle various scenarios such as a draw or invalid input. Through this task, I reinforced my understanding of functions, conditionals, loops, and data structures.
Another activity I found particularly enjoyable was the Sorting Mat game. This engaging and interactive exercise involved categorizing various items based on specific attributes, such as color, shape, or size. It provided a hands-on approach to learning, making abstract concepts more tangible and understandable. The Sorting Mat game not only reinforced my organizational skills but also enhanced my ability to classify and analyze data effectively.
